Manuel Knapp

Manuel Knapp is Study Director of the European Academy Berlin. His areas of work and responsible educational offerings are in the fields of European communication, EAB International, and (educational) public diplomacy.

After completing his studies in European Studies (M.A.), History and Economics (B.A.), he gained extensive practical experience in political (European) communication, public diplomacy, and association management in Switzerland, Belgium, and Germany. He is the honorary co-chair of the non-partisan Europa-Union Berlin e.V., board member of the European Movement Switzerland - Basel Section, and alumnus of Young Königswinter e.V. In 2022/23, he is co-spokesperson of the network "Engagierte Europäer".

Since 2019, Manuel has been a member of the EU Expert Network "Team Europe Germany Direct" of the European Commission. Over 50 experts from all areas of society, including lawyers, economists, political scientists, and actors in political education, provide information on current European policy issues in Germany and Europe.

For his extensive commitment to Europe, he was nominated for the "Blauer Bär" of the State of Berlin in 2020 and 2021 together with the campaign team for "Europa in bester Verfassung" ("Europe in the Best Constitution)".
