Veliko Tarnovo hosted an international meeting within the project "EU - we stand united" on October 20-23, 2021. The topic was “European Reunification Process and its Aftermath in the Context of the Future of Europe”. Young people from Germany, Poland, Hungary, France and Bulgaria met to comment on the events of 1990 and the implications for European history. The participants discussed the process of democratization in Central and Eastern Europe, commented on the unification of the two German states and the consequences on the democratic process throughout Europe and the creation of a sustainable peace in Europe. In interesting presentations, history hunt, group sessions and story- telling, the young people got to know about the lessons of the regimes in the participating countries. The young people had a number of visits – at the Museum of socialist equipment, at the Residence of the ex-communist leader in Arbanassi and met people who shared with them memories about the period. With the greatest interest, the participants discussed what the future of Europe should be, and they shared their expectations for strengthening unity and developing a stable EU. They had creative group sessions, during which each group drew the logo of the United Europe and EU. Each of the groups came together on concrete recommendations for Europe's development in the coming decades.

COVID-19 put the organizers in a difficult situation, given the introduction of new measures by the Ministry of Health on October 21, 2021. This led that the participants were formally divided into three groups - a group of international participants and limited Bulgarian participation, and two groups of young people at the Vocational School of Tourism, which participates in the project.
